Hello Curious Minds Crew!
Hope you have been feeding your minds with all kinds of new insights and thoughts. This morning I was listening to this entire talk given by Andrew Ng to a group of AI builders at Y Combinator. The analogy that Andrew used is nothing novel, but for some reason it just hit me like a ton of Lego bricks! (:43 in the clip above)
The context of his analogy is about using various AI building blocks (skills) and that one skill is good, two is better, and so on. When you combine them the exponential value and creative possibilities are off the charts! Again, we all probably know this intuitively. However, it is just a great reminder that we need to stack our skill blocks and leverage them into building amazing things.
Here is the entire presentation if you are wanting a deeper dive (the actual presentation is on building an AI Startup company faster) so the talk is not really relevant to 99.95% of us. :)
Randomness incoming…as a huge fan of Nacho Libre there is a line in the movie that relates to this idea about skill stacking and teamwork:
